He’s Baaa-aaack

Yes, I’ve been gone for an extended period of time…very unlike me not to be blogging.

And, despite opinions of my friends to the contrary, it’s not just because of World of Warcraft, though that certainly has played into it.

No, I have primarily away to be dealing with some personal business that I have really not been wanting to vent to the rest of the world…at least not yet. But I’ll at least put it on the radar, so people can have some context; sometime over the next year or so, my wife of almost 14 years and I will be getting a divorce.

Not something I ever expected to happen, and I won’t share all of my opinions on the topic in this forum. Sufficed to say that one cannot force another person to be in a relationship that they don’t want to be in. So we handle this gracefully, make the plans we need to make, and move on. The primary consideration at this point, and for the future, is our children.

Wow, I guess now I’ll be able to get that big-screen TV. *lol*

So, here are some coming attractions in the next few days as I get back into the wonderful world of blogging:

1) How he put the “Dick” in Dick Cheney

2) More on the war… the one in Iraq, that is

3) Patriots News

4) Presidential Candidate Updates

See you in the Blogosphere!

State of the Union Lies

Just when I thought Bush had exhausted me…

Just when I dared give him an ouce of credit for trying to move forward in the State of the Union address…

I was reminded that this man would dare to lie, repeatedly, in such an adress…

But then again, why shouldn’t he? He’s done it before.

Keith Olbermann, on “The Decider.”

The passage of the speech:

Our success in this war is often measured by the things that did not happen. We cannot know the full extent of the attacks that we and our allies have prevented, but here is some of what we do know: We stopped an al Qaeda plot to fly a hijacked airplane into the tallest building on the West Coast. We broke up a Southeast Asian terror cell grooming operatives for attacks inside the United States. We uncovered an al Qaeda cell developing anthrax to be used in attacks against America. And just last August, British authorities uncovered a plot to blow up passenger planes bound for America over the Atlantic Ocean. For each life saved, we owe a debt of gratitude to the brave public servants who devote their lives to finding the terrorists and stopping them. (Applause.)

Every success against the terrorists is a reminder of the shoreless ambitions of this enemy. The evil that inspired and rejoiced in 9/11 is still at work in the world. And so long as that’s the case, America is still a nation at war.
